Freedom Garden

In the Spring of 2018, we are breaking ground for a community garden.  Most refugees and immigrants live in apartments with no area available to grow a garden.  The Nashville World Outreach Partnership is going to provide gardening space behind Tusculum Hills Baptist Church, with individual raised beds, for families interested in growing vegetables.  The Freedom Garden will be an outdoor space for volunteers to develop relationships with our refugee and immigrant neighbors while helping them grow healthy food.

Volunteer opportunities

  • Helping to build raised-bed garden boxes.
  • Educating refugees and immigrants about the types of vegetables that grow well in Tennessee and assist them with how to care for their plants.
  • Supervisors for the garden.
  • Managers for the garden tool shed- check out/in garden tools, keep area organized, and clean.
